Day 2 of my 5 day self-imposed boot camp!

The report from yesterday goes something like this: Yeaouza! (Or whatever noise you feel like inserting there that means something related to Yikes!)

I definitely wanted to start the week off with a bang. I find that I have much more energy for workouts earlier in the week, so I am trying to make use of that energy, so I can taper off a little as the week progresses. Yesterday I knew I wanted to do the Fire 45 video. I "enjoy" that one and am usually pretty spent by the end of it. But, I challenged myself to up the ante a bit and add on the Physique 57's 30 minute arms & abs video after I finished the cardio. I knew it was "do-able" since my legs weren't involved in the second piece and they are usually what's the most exhausted after cardio. The arms portion of the video is good, I only hit the point of fatigue once. The abs portion is a whole other animal. It is hard core. Even doing the "modified" version, I had to stop several moves short of the total number of reps the girls did. But, I stuck with it and did as much as I could.
After the workout, I was quite exhausted but still feeling good. I've found over the past week that I seem to not feel as tired so maybe, just maybe, that theory about exercise giving you energy is actually starting to kick in! (Unless it's immediately after a hard cardio workout, lol, because then all I am doing is passing out on the couch!!)
The goal for today (after my dentist appt- yuck!) is to do Fire 30 and probably HIIT 20.

My outfit today:

Super comfy, may as well be a moo-moo, dress! It's a ponte cotton material and I just think it's great because it really is a throw-on and go kinda dress. I decided to put this little belt around it to break it up a little. I also have a yellow cardigan to throw on when I get cold. It plays nicely off the turquoise necklace. :)

Dress: The Limited, Clearance $18 (Yep!!)
Belt: Charlotte Russe, $5 for 3
Shoes: Kenneth Cole Outlet, $24
Necklace: Gift from Maj

Good lord.... I hate how my pictures are so bad! the camera is set up about at waist level, which is obvious from the way every picture makes me look like a giant but also horribly disproportionate.  Ugh. I'd probably have to take 15 pictures every morning to get 3 good ones!

Even Gucci can't help a Monday....

Well, that's not entirely true... every time I look down at my feet today I do smile, so I suppose that does help. I spent some time on Sunday going through my pants (even though I weeded through a lot last fall) just to make sure everything I was hanging on to was really worth the space it was taking up.
This was fueled by the fact that I did go to the Ann Taylor outlet this weekend. I went because the last time I went I found the grey pants I wore last Thursday which fit absolutely divine and look just as good. (If I do say so myself!) When I received the email advertising that Ann Taylor was taking an additional 40% off the entire store, I figured going to see if there were any more of that style of pant available couldn't hurt. Sure enough, I found one black pair of almost the exact same pant. The fit is the same, the material is just a little lighter weight. I was happy, as after the 40% off, they were $18. Fine by me! So since I did get another pair of pants, I decided I should make sure the ones I was hanging on to were worth keeping.
I ended up giving away 4 more pair and pulling 6 pair that I will keep (and hopefully store away for ever) as they are too big now :)
Today's outfit was a result of the weeding.... I realized I haven't worn these pants in quite some time and they are very comfortable. So, I paired them with this top, which I've had since this past summer, but not yet worn. (Pulled tag off this morning) And the best part of the outfit? The shoes, without a doubt. I decided I'm tired of letting some of my very nice shoes just sit in boxes. While, of course, no one in my office notices, I get the enjoyment of knowing my shoes are the best in the room! :) I'm very happy to finally wear these babies. Sadly, I've had them for almost 10 months and this is the first time I've worn them.

A mini-goal I'm setting for myself this week is to workout every day. Last week, I did every day except Wed, which I basically had to take off because of soreness. This week I want to get 5 solid workouts in. Today will be Fire 45 plus anything else I can muster up the energy to do! Hopefully either a HIIT or the Arms/Abs bonus video.

My outfit today:
Pants: BCBG, via Sharon's (a store in Hot Springs, AR) I think I paid $40 for them on clearance
Top: JC Penny, $16
Shoes: Gucci, $ ;)

Thursday/Friday

It's a good thing when you're distracted enough to not be able to do your regular morning posts. Especially when the weeks have been so slow. I didn't have time to post yesterday, so today's post is a Thursday/Friday post.

Wednesday I took a break from working out because I was very sore. Thursday I jumped back in and did Fire 45EZ, which in no shape or form is EZ...... Since I still had some residual soreness in my legs, I figured the workout wouldn't be easy. What I didn't count on was my legs fatiguing as quickly as they did. I had to take 3 or 4 breaks during the workout to catch my breath and be able to continue. The result of the workout was me falling asleep on the couch by 8! I thought exercise was supposed to give you energy!! Haha not this workout!

My outfit today (Friday) is the Friday uniform. Jeans, Science polo and tennis shoes. Nothing to be excited about.

My outfit Thursday:

Pants: Ann Taylor Factory Store, $20 (LOVE THESE!!)
Sweater: Mossimo for Target, $12
Shirt: Worthington, Pennys, $14
Necklace: Ann Taylor Sale, don't remember what I paid
Shoes: Nine West, had for several years, $48

Take that Daylight Savings!!!!

Not really. Just trying to fake it til I make it! No rain in sight today, very sunny in fact, but still very dark at 6:30 on the morning walk. I suppose it was always like this, as I don't really think the Earth has changed just to spite me, but I don't remember it being quite so dark.
Nonetheless, J and I got our walk in and had a regular morning.

I am super duper sore today. I got back to my tough workouts Monday and then did the Physique 57 video yesterday and today I'm extremely sore. So much so that I'm not sure what I'll end up doing today work-out wise. I may just take an extra-long walk with Jax tonight.

Today's outfit (flats b/c heels were out of the question with shakey thighs!)

Pants: Kenneth Cole Outlet, Christmas gift (but I know they were around 25 bucks ;) )
Sweater: JC Penny Clearance, $12
Shoes: Gianni Bini, Dillards, $24

Daylight Savings, 2 Allie, 0

Wow! The time change is not going so well for me in the mornings! Now, it is fabulous to have daylight on the drive home and subsequent dog walk and workout. I am certainly willing to trade dark mornings for that. I am just hoping that the very rainy/foggy/overcast-ness of the past two mornings is contributing to the overwhelming darkness! I'm hoping that as the skies clear over the next few days, the mornings will be just a tad brighter, as I am having a hard time getting going and certainly not enjoying walking J in the dark!

I laid out all of my outfits for this week on Sunday, when I did some good cleaning. I knew I wanted to wear this top/sweater combo with jeans and really planned on wearing it closer to Friday but after another misty gross morning walk and fog and rain lingering all day, I decided today was an appropriate jeans day!

This is the first time I've worn this top and I am quite sure I've had it for over a year. It's actually a tank top and I should have worn it last summer, I just never did. After putting it on this morning, I realized that the shoulders need to be taken up about an inch to make it fit me better. (Right now, they are crudely pinned up) So after today, I'll hang it with a few of my other things that need to go to the tailor for "fixin'."

Today's outfit:

Top: Gap, Final Sale, $8
Sweater: Banana, $15
Jeans: Banana, $30
Shoes:  Fossil, via Dillard's Clearance, $21

Hugest head in the world!!! Haha!

Daylight Savings, 1 Allie, 0

The time change got me this morning! I'm sure it was a combination of not sleeping super well thanks to crazy dreams and crazy thunderstorms and the time moving forward an hour, but at alarm time today, I ran the gamut of possible excuses to call in to work either sick or late. :) I didn't do either because by that time, Jax was stirring and there's just not a lot of sleeping to be done once he gets going. So I pulled myself out of bed and walked him. It was super dark outside and still wet and drizzly. In essence, the perfect day to stay in bed!!

My outfit today:

Dress: Banana, Sale, $30
Shoes: Franco Sarto via TJ Maxx, $27
Jacket: WDNY, via TJ Maxx, $12

Pretty much doesn't get any easier (or less binding!) than a jersey dress like this one! Great for a blah day!
