Long Thursday

Today is my 8-8 day. I'll run home about 2:30 to walk Jackson and then I don't anticipate getting home until 8:30 or so. Bleck.

Because part of the afternoon we are having to direct the set-up of the facility for tomorrow's events, I am dressed way down. I'll change before the panel event tonight. If I have time, I'll snap a picture.

My outfit today:

Nike Warm-Up & Shoes: c/o Football

Best thing about this? I've had it since the 2008 National Championship Game, and have yet to wear it because the pants had always been too tight. Decided to give it a shot yesterday and they fit! They are still just a bit snug at the top of the thighs but they are on!!

I HATE cropped pants with tennis shoes on me, but it was out of necessity today.

Middle of a long week

This morning I have 10 student appointments, this afternoon, 9. Tomorrow is my long day and Friday is go go go with Spring testing.  Needless to say I will be hitting the caffeine pretty hard.

Yesterday, I forgot to mention the cool night sky Monday night. I'd heard (or read) that Monday night was a great chance to view the crescent moon, Venus and Jupiter all very close to each other and sure enough, they were very visible. It was really neat as the two planets were so much brighter than the other stars in the sky. What was even greater was as I was standing in the driveway looking at the planets and other stars, I saw a shooting star! So fun!

Workout wise, I heeded the sage advice from Peete about not over-doing a workout with my very sore legs. What I decided to do was to walk it off. What I never seem to remember is walking isn't easy!! When you really walk for fitness, a quick pace, etc... it's a workout! I'm sure that my legs already being sore didn't help me much. I walked J around the block once, which is about .7 of a mile. Then, I did the longer loop, .9 of a mile twice by myself. I was sweating by the time I got in but I didn't feel like I'd overdone it. I'm hoping it helped. I am a lot less sore in my quads this morning, but more sore in my hips/butt area. If it ain't one thing.... :)

My outfit today:

Pants: White Black, $19.99
Top: Bella Bella, $12
Shoes: Kenneth Cole, $29

SORE!!!

By the time I got home yesterday I was so not feeling the idea of working out. Work wasn't particularly difficult, just busy enough that I felt tired when I got home. I decided cardio was out of the question but begrudgingly convinced myself to do as much of the Physique 57 video as I could stand. That ended up being about 46 of the 57 minutes.... I finally had to turn the DVD off at the end of the ab work because I simply couldn't do any more. Every moment of the video was difficult and my legs/thighs felt like they'd never done anything like it ever before. It's so strange how a workout that you've done several times before on an off day can feel like the hardest thing ever. Oddly enough, my quads are super tight and sore today, so apparently, they really needed that workout yesterday. What I end up doing today remains to be seen. :)

My outfit today:

Pants: H&M, $10.97
Top: NY&Co, Sale (bought well over a year ago, pulled tag off today) $9.97
Necklace: Can't remember! Arg......
Shoes: Nine West, Clearance, $24

Gorgeous Weekend and a Busy Week!

Couldn't have asked for prettier weather this weekend, my only regret is I wasn't able to go to West Monroe to help little p with her show, but having to go at it alone was a confidence booster for her, I'm sure, so it might not have been a bad thing. Huh, Little P? ;)

This week will be busy in the office (meaning a lot of screeching and dodging the inevitable falling sky) because Thursday and Friday are the big Spring invitational event on campus for incoming high school students.

What that means for me is that Thursday will have to be my day off from working out, since I'll be at the office from 8 am until about 8 pm. With a break around 2:30 to let little J out, of course. And Friday I'll be on my feet the better part of the day, so working out will be unlikely. Monday through Wednesday, therefore, have to be all out!

I have a picture of my outfit from Friday evening to share. It was very "Spring-y" but I liked it!!
