Friday! LSU vs Bama Weekend!

No, I'm not going to the game, but I'm still excited! Not buying into the extra hype of the media, but it is a big game. It basically determines if we or Bama will go to the National Championship, or at least be playing for it if either team wins out after this one. So, it's big. I think it will be a tight game that comes down to the little things. And maybe some Mad Hatter magic? :)
It will be a good weekend here, with my special visitors :) I'll post pictures on Monday.

For today, my school spirited outfit:
Jeans: Banana Republic
Tops: Both, Nike
Boots: Cole Haan; I have worn the poop out of these poor boots. I think flat black boots will have to be an end-of-season purchase for me this year, as these pups are probably on their near-to-last go-round. :(
Jacket: Croft & Barrow, Kohls, End of Season clearance last year, $14 bucks :)

Wednesday

So today I feel bum-ish. Didn't work out yesterday, as I was trying to nurse my sore knee. I also ate some Halloween candy after dinner so I'm feeling bad about that. (Probably because instead of eating 2 pieces I ate about 6, lol) I did have a nice long walk with J when I got home yesterday, which he enjoyed, so at least I moved a little! I am going to work out today since the knee seems better and that will be good.

Last night I ate my 3rd serving of pork chop leftovers and it was still delish. I used this seasoning:
I have actually used it twice now and the pork chops have been amazing. The packet comes with a baking bag so I'm sure that helps with keeping the moisture in, but really they are fantastic. I highly recommend. I paid over 2 bucks for it at Albertsons when I first used it, but Wal-Mart also carries it for around $1.75.  Well worth it I think! I bought the Chicken version last weekend and I will try it out soon.

My outfit today:

Trouser Jeans: Banana Republic, Not sure what I paid, I'd guess about $30
Top: NY & Co, $7.99
Jacket: WDNY, TJ Maxx, $15
Shoes: Tahari, DSW Clearance, $30
Jewelry: Randoms
Watch: Bianci

Call me the grinch who stole Halloween....

So, I was out of town last year at Halloween; no clue where I was the year before... but somehow I missed the memo that my neighborhood takes Halloween quite seriously. I figured I'd just turn off the porch light (or not turn it on) and no one would bother me... So I'm finishing my workout and stretching (about 6 pm) and there are people knocking on my door. Seriously? It wasn't even dark enough to turn an outside light on! So, luckily I had some random candy still left from when the neighbors "boo-ed" me.... maybe that should've been a hint about the seriousness of Halloween... regardless, I was able to give the 2 Spider-men a few pieces of candy. Then I had to go into hiding. Luckily, the rest of the kids did heed the no-porch-light rule, but by stealing glaces through shut blinds, I realized I was not a good neighbor. All of the neighbors set up tables and chairs in their driveways and sit and wait for the kids to come to them.... which, by the way, does irk me a bit.... I mean, seriously how much lazier can we make the kids? At least make the sons of guns walk all the way to the front door!!! Anyway, there they all were sitting with their candy pots waiting for the kids. And I don't know if the kids in the neighborhood invited friends over or what, but we apparently have a lot of kids who do not get outside to play enough. (Not that they were fat, I've just never seen them before!)
Perhaps what made me sort of feel guilty last night was that other than the lack of doorbell ringing, everyone getting candy was a child, dressed in a cute outfit. I think in years past, I've been annoyed by Halloween and the 15 year olds not even in costume just looking for free handouts. But my little innocent neighborhood was doing it the semi-old fashioned way. Kind of refreshing. :) Although it did take all I had to not run outside and ask the 3 teenage girls who were "Playboy Bunnies" if they realized that the bunnies had a very strict appearance code and they clearly did not meet it.....not to mention the fact that they legitimately looked like cheap hookers and they were walking around a neighborhood with nothing but young kids trick or treating....  I'm all for cheap hooker Halloween, but not when you are not legal nor when you aren't at a party!
Anyway, I promise to be good next year.
Today I'm trying (again) to turn over a new leaf at work and brush off what I believe to be injustices and just breathe deeply and not let anyone affect how I am feeling. I should not be punished for having ambition but if that is a threat to some, I cannot control that, nor will I let it deter me. :) And that's that.

Today's outfit is comfy chic. (again, in my humble opinion)

The bitches are out...oops... I meant witches....

Needless to say, my morning is not off to the best start. Work issues. :(
Alas, I don't have the energy for a super entertaining post today...

I am wearing an Ode to Halloween today... kinda trampy for work but as it worked out, the theme fits the day quite nicely. The color scheme is a tribute to orange and black, just not done with orange, lol.

Sweater: St. Johns Bay, JC Penny
Shirt: Old Navy, Clearance, $8
Pants: Kohls, $32
Shoes: Nine West, via DSW Clearance, $25
Earrings & Necklace: Love Culture, $10

I'm leaving this picture in because it makes me laugh... the timer went faster than I thought and this is me almost busting my a** trying to pose in time! :) Plus, For some reason I look super skinny here so I like it! Haha!

Suede, with a skinny ankle strap. So cute!
 Necklace close-up
Seriously people, botox or juvederm under the eyes???

Chillaxing Weekend

This weekend was all about errands and not having much to do. It was great. I spent a lot of time with J-Bird and did a little running around. I did however cheat a tiny bit and I bought a very cute dress for my Atl trip in early December. I couldn't help myself, I saw it at Forever 21 and it just looks like a super expensive dress that will be amazing with tights and it was only 25 bucks. Other than that cheating, I am very proud of myself because I walked all through the mall and didn't get anything else, just window shopped! I even went in DSW and came out empty handed! Go me! Some Saturday lazy J pictures...

Chillin, it's his thing....
 Playing, it's his other thing...

 Happy Boy!

Sunday Jax and I went to the park on Perkins. It is just a pedestrian park so we just walked the path and mostly let J smell some new smells. He loved it, of course. :) Here are some pictures!

He says "Come on! Let's go... I don't want to pose right now!"
Smelling a tree aka guess what happens next.

Deciding which way he wanted to go...

Maybe that way....
 Lake rest stop
 Handsome boy!

Stopped to watch all of the kids skateboarding and riding bikes.
