Frisday!

Yay for Fridays! Not much going on today on the work front. Since I was chastised yesterday about working too fast, I'm not doing much at all today. Yes, I was told I work too quickly. NOT that I work quickly and make mistakes, just that I work too quickly. "I know you are speedy gonzales and like to get stuff off your desk. But there isn't a deadline for this. It's an overwhelming task, so take your time." Um.... ok, but I like to get stuff taken care of. Regardless, I finished the "overwhelming" task I was given and asked to NOT complete too quickly, set it on the corner of my desk, and will turn it in next week, when presumably I would have had enough time to get it finished. :(

Today I'm wearing:
Jeans: Citizen of Humanity
Top: Nike, LSU
Shoes: Nine West

Thursday

Feeling so uneasy yesterday and today. What's done is done, but it's so hard not to spend every second over-analyzing and second-guessing. Alas, I shall sit and wait and hope. I do not want to be too disappointed if things don't go my way, because in the fickle world of politics, there is no telling.

Today's Outfit:

Pants: Gap, Had forever
Sweater: Old Navy, Clearance, probably less than $10
Jacket: Charlotte Russe, with coupon last year, $22 (great steal)
Shoes: Nine West, many years ago

Really?

My morning:
6:15: wake up, J is cleaning his paws, it's got to be close to "that time", check clock, yep, 10 more minutes...
6:25: alarm goes off. groan, but still ready for the day
6:27: brushing teeth.... realize I feel like I may need to throw up. Are you kidding me???
6:28: put cold water on my neck and wrists and sit on bathroom floor and breathe. All the while telling myself this is not an option today. (This being the occasional day when for seemingly no reason at all, I wake up with horrible nausea and have to wait until I break a sweat to feel okay again. Random, I know)
6:30: Break into a sweat. Thank goodness. Tell myself I'm fine and walk J.
6:30-6:50: Surprisingly, I am fine on the walk. When we got back to the house, I ate a handful of dry oatmeal just to be on the safe side, but overall I felt fine.
6:50: Proceed with getting ready

I mean of all days! I was so nervous I was going to have a bad bout of nausea but I feel fine now. Oh well. Interesting start to the day! :)

My outfit today:
Top: Banana Clearance, $14
Pants: Victoria's Secret, not sure what I paid. They are the bottoms to a suit.
Shoes: Maripe, Shoe Station. These were actually on the chopping block and in the give-away box until last night when I realized I didn't have any plain brown pumps to go with these pants! While I don't particularly love these and probably will still give them away, they saved me today!
Cuff: Charlotte Russ, $4
Don't worry... I put lipstick on right after I saw this picture!

About that wildlife....

It's so funny how things happen... yesterday Mom and I were talking about if I had deer in my backyard... (don't even ask how we got on that topic, there truly is no telling) so I said no, no deer not enough space, stuff for them to eat, etc... Well I still maintain there are no deer back there, but I can officially add a new animal to the list of things I've observed! The current list is this:

Snakes [black with green stripes (ok), brown (not good), brown pattern (even worse probably), black speckled (fine, hope he'd eat other snakes)]
Raccoons (huge)
Fox
Rabbit
Owl (s)
Hawks
Frogs
Lizards
Salamanders (or HUGE shiny black lizard things)
Baby brown tarantula (pretty sure)

And, this morning, in my driveway.... an armadillo! Yes, alive, and seemingly not rabid. He was just chilling and of course Jax and I bust out of the back door and he just kinda waddled along the driveway into the neighbors front yard. Even Jackson was looking at it like "What the heck is that?"

So, at this point, I'm not ruling out the possibility of any animal being in my backyard. I'm wondering if I can apply for federal funding for the Prest Wildlife Conservatory.....

It's rainy again this morning. I had a mini-wardrobe meltdown this morning. Had this dress laid out and put it on (first time I've worn it since trying it on several months ago) and I realized that the neckline falls way open. Almost too open. As in the next time I wear it, it will be with a black shirt of some sort under it, unless I always wear it with a jacket. So it took me a while to figure out what to throw over this. I tried 2 different cardigans with belts, didn't really like either. This is kind of a cop-out, but I was really pushing my time. So, here I am. :)

Today:
Dress: NY & Co, Clearance $10
Jacket:  Old Navy, had it forever
Shoes: Kenneth Cole

Hard to tell here, but I have the dress pinned and just pulled the shoulders up as they want to fall even more open than this!

Monday!!!!

Normally, I'm not excited about Mondays, but I'm excited about this week in general. I feel like opportunities await and I'm really excited about them. :)
It's super foggy and moist out this morning. I had to put a baseball cap on to walk Jax b/c I was afraid of major frizz-head if I didn't. He enjoyed the walk and came back mostly wet and all the way happy. The temps are back up in the 80s for highs this week. I plan to do a solid week of workouts to really boost my calorie burn going into next week.
My outfit today:

Dress: Squense? No clue about the brand, got it at Marshalls on Clearance for $15 and its soooo comfortable
Shoes: Coach, via DSW
Watch: MK
Necklace: Hand-me-down from Gma :)

I love dresses. It's just the easiest way to get dressed! One and done. :)

Where does the weekend go?

Even when I don't have the busiest of weekends, it seems like time flies. I was out running errands Saturday morning, lazy Saturday afternoon, headed to the game about 3:30 and before you know it, my alarm is going off and it's Monday morning! Well, okay, my Sunday was a little more productive than that, but it just went by too quickly. I didn't get to take Jax to a park, which I wanted to do, but between waking up early, doing laundry, church and then the outlet mall (yes, I sinned.... hahah a reference to the mall, not church) and then eating a late lunch with Amanda, it was 3:30 before I knew it and I still had plenty of chores to do!

So, about the sinning.. nothing too bad. Banana Republic Factory store sent out coupons for an additional 30% off this weekend. Well, I know typically I can find some work clothes there at really good prices so I figured I could go and just see what they had. I've been on the hunt for a nice black pencil skirt as I've realized the majority of my skirts are prints and the solid black skirts I have are either a. A-line b. have some razzle-dazzle (like a mesh underlying hem that peeks out a bit, or really high work-inappropriate slits, not sure what I was thinking) or c. are just old and have lost their shape. So, I have needed a nice pencil skirt for some time now. Banana stepped up to the plate. I found a very nice weight black pencil skirt, a cobalt blue skirt that can be used for work or play and a blue abstract print shirt with 3/4 sleeves. The pencil skirt was 50% off, the blue skirt 60% off and the shirt 70% off. Then I had my 30% coupon, so for the three items, my total was $49. I was happy. :)
And I know that shopping at all defeats my mission, but I feel really good about the fact that 90% of the time, I'm sticking to my mission and what I'm noticing is that while I'll still go wander through the mall, I am really scrutinizing clothes now, not just buying things because they are a good deal. I also feel like I am making much more conscious decisions about what I need and don't need, and I'm seeing a difference in my finances, which is great! (Not like this is rocket-science, but I'm dealing with an addiction here people! :) ) I should've taken a picture of the clothes I bought yesterday. Maybe I'll do that tonight and post them tomorrow.
Here are some random pictures from the weekend....
