Wow! The time change is not going so well for me in the mornings! Now, it is fabulous to have daylight on the drive home and subsequent dog walk and workout. I am certainly willing to trade dark mornings for that. I am just hoping that the very rainy/foggy/overcast-ness of the past two mornings is contributing to the overwhelming darkness! I'm hoping that as the skies clear over the next few days, the mornings will be just a tad brighter, as I am having a hard time getting going and certainly not enjoying walking J in the dark!
I laid out all of my outfits for this week on Sunday, when I did some good cleaning. I knew I wanted to wear this top/sweater combo with jeans and really planned on wearing it closer to Friday but after another misty gross morning walk and fog and rain lingering all day, I decided today was an appropriate jeans day!
This is the first time I've worn this top and I am quite sure I've had it for over a year. It's actually a tank top and I should have worn it last summer, I just never did. After putting it on this morning, I realized that the shoulders need to be taken up about an inch to make it fit me better. (Right now, they are crudely pinned up) So after today, I'll hang it with a few of my other things that need to go to the tailor for "fixin'."
Today's outfit:
Top: Gap, Final Sale, $8
Sweater: Banana, $15
Jeans: Banana, $30
Shoes: Fossil, via Dillard's Clearance, $21
Hugest head in the world!!! Haha!
This is my chronicle of what I am able to do with just the things I already own. I am attempting to create real world, professional, but fun, outfits using what I already own; basically shopping in my own closet.

Daylight Savings, 1 Allie, 0
The time change got me this morning! I'm sure it was a combination of not sleeping super well thanks to crazy dreams and crazy thunderstorms and the time moving forward an hour, but at alarm time today, I ran the gamut of possible excuses to call in to work either sick or late. :) I didn't do either because by that time, Jax was stirring and there's just not a lot of sleeping to be done once he gets going. So I pulled myself out of bed and walked him. It was super dark outside and still wet and drizzly. In essence, the perfect day to stay in bed!!
My outfit today:
Dress: Banana, Sale, $30
Shoes: Franco Sarto via TJ Maxx, $27
Jacket: WDNY, via TJ Maxx, $12
Pretty much doesn't get any easier (or less binding!) than a jersey dress like this one! Great for a blah day!

So now how is it not Friday????
Definitely the longest week ever. Everyone seems to be feeling it. We are going to get rain for the next 3 days and I think everyone is going to be hibernating! I am going to put weed & feed on my yard when I get home since it will get a good rain tomorrow and Saturday.
My outfit today:
Pants: A.Byer, Dillards, $9
Top: St. Tropics West, via TJ Maxx or Marshalls, I guess! Can't remember!
* This top is so cute, Mardi Gras colors really, but I never wear it. I think this is only the second time I've worn it; and I can't tell you how long I've had it! Since it's sleeveless, and a longer length, I think it would be super cute with shorts or white capri's over the summer!
Sweater: Papaya, $12.99
Shoes: Arturo Chiang, via Smart Bargains, old
Blurry!!!! ARG!!!!
Better representation of the colors!

How is it just Wednesday?
I felt like last week drug by, wow this week is much worse. Several times this morning, I was feeling like it was definitely Thursday. Last night I didn't do a specific workout... when I got home, it was just gorgeous outside, so I took Jax for a long walk and just did a lot of stretches since my hamstrings were still tight. I'm going to decide when I get home whether I feel like doing a Fire 45 or the Physique video.
Last night, I made a DELICIOUS dinner, somewhat by accident. I needed to find a quick chicken recipe and was wanting something not super healthy :) So I tried this recipe. I realized after I cooked the chicken that I'd inadvertently (i.e. not paying attention) put twice the amount of chicken and broccoli in the pans, so I had to double the recipe entirely. I didn't have an additional can of Cream of Mushroom, so I ended up using a can of Cream of Chicken. I also used half & half instead of milk to make it that much creamier. (Evil grin) I cooked two pie pans of the divan and I'm thrilled I have that much as leftovers for the next few days because the flavor is out of this world good! I served it over whole wheat "thin" spaghetti.
My outfit today:
Since I wore high heels yesterday, I'm being good and wearing a flat today. My back doctor would be proud.
Dress: Jessica Simpson, via Dillards, $32
Shoes: Bandolino, via DSW, $30

Tuesday
Yesterday I managed to get a good workout in and I had to talk myself into it. Actually convincing myself that it was only 30 minutes.... I really needed it.... I made too many excuses last week... you get the drift. I did convince myself and I did the workout and even though it was only 30 minutes, I was fatiguing at the end because my legs were actually quite sore from the yard work and park visit with J the day before. Tonight I plan to do the Physique 57 video.
Today's outfit started with pants, but I didn't like the way the pants were fitting this morning, so I switched it to this skirt. I threw the sweater on, not because I think it's adorable but because I always have to plan on my office being freezing.
Today's outfit:
Skirt: "Essentials by Milano" aka some really random brand from TJ Maxx, $12.99
Top: Ann Taylor Outlet, $13
Sweater: Banana Outlet, $16
Shoes: Aldo, $24
Watch: MK
Warning: These pictures SUCK!! Hahah!

New Week, New Look....
For the blog at least, trying a fresh look as we move into Spring.
Had a fabulous weekend, no big social events, a friend in town Friday night and dinner and drinks with a friend Saturday night, but had the most productive day ever on Sunday.
After the usual morning routine, I came home and weeded the front flower beds, while Jackson hunted for lizards in the monkey grass and rolled in the yard. At one point, though I came across a baby snake and decided I needed to watch Jackson's "hunting" a little more closely. I'm not sure if this snake was bad or not, it was very much tiny and brown, but was very non-aggressive and quickly got away before I could get a better look at him.
After cleaning the beds, I had lunch, took a 20 minute cat nap and then Jax and I went to the park. No pictures unfortunately, because the park was so packed with people I really had to be aware of my surroundings all the time so as to not have any little kids run up on Jackson wanting to "Pet the doggie!" (Never a good idea with Jax)
After the park, I came home and Jax commenced to napping and I commenced to laundry and cleaning up my room and the kitchen. Took one last break and then cleaned bathrooms.
The evening ended with me trying two new recipes, both of which turned out really good! Sweet potato burgers here. and Soup recipe here. I didn't have tahini (couldn't find it at Wal-mart, not surprising) but as much as I liked the burgers without it, I look forward to trying them with it! I enjoyed both, but especially the sweet potato "burgers." Very Delish!
Focusing on what hopefully lies ahead in the career world, as mine just gets sillier and more like an overgrown kindergarten class every day :)
I laid this outfit out yesterday after I finished cleaning up my bedroom. I decided I wanted to wear this top, since I hadn't worn it in over a year. It is blousy so I knew I wanted a tighter-fitting skirt and I just didn't feel like 4" heels today so I went with the other pair of black wedges I found on my wedge wonderland shopping trip. These are suede and there was no rain forecasted so I knew they'd work. I'm really happy with them. The shirt, however, is HUGE on me!! Apparently I bought it when I was at my heaviest weight, which would have been at least 10 pounds heavier than I am now, and it shows! Even tied back, it's too big. But, I decided to wear it and will probably consider moving it to the "give-away" group come next weekend when I do a Spring closet clean out.
My outfit today:
Skirt: Larry Levine, TJ Maxx, $16.99
Top: Calvin Klein, TJ Maxx or Marshalls, $10
Shoes: MRKT, via DSW, $24
I love the sun coming through my window!! Best part of the morning!
