Re-do please!!

There are some mornings when you just need a do-over... today probably qualifies as one of those. To begin, I got myself all psyched up for an 8 am dentist appt this morning. Because of the proximity of the dentist to my house, I really wasn't going to have to change my routine at all; I just simply planned to leave the house at 7:30 as usual and head that way. I'm sleeping quite soundly this morning when I get a phone call at 6:00 AM!!!! I recognize the number and realize it's the dentist's office, so I don't answer because I'm figuring that they are calling to cancel.
I could've drifted back off to sleep until my 6:25 alarm, but a certain furry grey one decided phone call=alarm=time to get up. He was in my face restless and wanting down at that point, so I had to scratch on him and pet him to keep him appeased so I could at least lie there for another 20 minutes or so.
At 6:20, we both were awake, so I decided to just get up. Everything else at the house was fine. I had to stop and get gas on the way to work and in doing so, didn't realize that I was standing in what apparently was spilled gasoline the entire time I was filling up. So, of course, as soon as I got back in the car, I nearly asphyxiated with the smell of gas. I had to put the windows down somewhat on the way to work, while having the heat on in the car because it is still a tad chilly out. By the time I got to the office, most of the smell dissipated, but I could still get a whiff when I moved my feet. I had to rinse off the bottoms of the shoes and am currently attempting to let them dry off. Hoping that works. I am really glad I am super casual today and just wearing tennis shoes. I would've been upset if they were good shoes.
Lesson learned: Check the ground before you step out and gas up!

Hoping the rest of my day is less eventful and better smelling than my morning!

I'm very much looking forward to my long weekend in the Port City!!

My outfit today:

Jeans: Citizen of Humanity, have had forever

Bleck to this Weather!

Well, I say be done ye crappy rain! It is humid and wet and gross outside. Definitely a day to sleep in and read a book on the couch.... in my dreams. Speaking of dreams, I was in the middle of a very clear dream about rushing (why always late/panicked???) to a horse show and was mid-sentence asking Amanda (interesting) where my shoes were, when my alarm went off. Talk about having a hard time getting going! Usually, I'm stirring or the dog is stirring a little before the alarm goes off, but not today!! I feel like I'm in a fog. So bleck!

My outfit today came from my desire to wear some of the multitude of shirts I have that still have tags on them. I got this shirt this past summer at Penny's (online) clearance. I actually found it and liked the "horses" print, and got this one, too, thinking it would probably be too old-lady-ish and I'd return it (since shipping is free). Well, when I got the shirts, I really didn't like the "horses" print, as it just looked like an odd pattern on the blouse and you couldn't really make out the horses at all. Plus, the shirt was a white-ish grey and looked dingy. However, much to my surprise, I really liked the paisley print, and so here we are. I took the horses shirt back and kept the one I didn't think I'd like! I'm also wearing the other pair of shoes I got at the recent Dillard's clearance sale. These are really nice and, while classic, are just different enough to have some character. The leather is really nice too. They still have them on Dillard's website.... notice the original price and the sale price, which is what I paid.

My outfit today:

Pants: Worthington, JC Penny, $13
Top: East 5th, JC Penny, $10
Shoes: Antonio Melani, Dillards, $38.50
Watch: Michael Kors
Earrings: NY&Co, $5

Yikes! I dislike all these pictures today!! I need to take a little more time to take my pictures, I think I'm rushing and it's evident in the pics I've posted lately! :(

Wednesday and storms are coming!

Of course, the one night I give some consideration to actually doing something social, the weather forecast is "dangerous storms, with high winds and tornadoes possible." So, there goes those plans! Plus, all the Wed night shows are new again tonight (I think), so I have decent reason to stay in!!
I'm doing cardio today. Yay! Starting to see some positive changes with all this working out garbage!

I'm wearing my Fossil wedges I found a few weeks ago at the Dillards Clearance. Yes, I know, no shopping, but these were too cute to pass up and I confessed my sins to Peete almost as soon as I got them! Plus, they were $21, marked down from originally being $90. And, apparently are still online in several places for nearly the original price! See here.

My outfit today:
Top: (All one piece) Apt 9, Kohls, $14
Jeans: Banana Outlet, $30
Shoes: Fossil via Dillards, $21
Watch: Michael Kors

I don't like how things look "bunchy" in the first two pictures. When I look in the mirror, everything about this outfit is very stream lined. Stupid lack of decent photography!!

Singles Awareness Day (S.A.D)

I saw this on someone's Facebook and it made me laugh. No, I'm not dating anyone so therefore I'm single, but I'm also not sad.... The older I get, and maybe as a result of teaching and seeing the shenanigans middle school kids do for V-day, the more I think this is a childish holiday. Seriously. I'm all for celebrating love and such, but honestly, when I am in a relationship, it would mean MUCH more to me for someone to do something for me unexpectedly, on a random day, than as a result of a forced holiday.
On to the day... hoping for miracles (short day, no drama, goes by quickly) but not counting on it.
I'm giving a nod to Red for Valentines day with my maroon color scheme....

Pants: Worthington, Pennys, $13
Top: Apt 9, Kohls, $12
Sweater: Victoria's Secret, had for years.....
Shoes: SE Boutique (Sam Edleman) via DSW, $49 (got them when I had a giftcard)

 Blurry Sparkles!

5 days and counting....

5 days...
1. In 5 days, I'll be headed to S'port for fambly time.
2. In 5 days, I'll be starting a 4 day break!
3. I am pledging to work out all 5 days this week. (Yay!)

Go 5's!

So, to begin, I have to tell my fabulous shoe story from Saturday.

Backstory: There aren't many shoes I "need" at this point in my life. Truthfully, there probably aren't any I "need." However,  I have been on the lookout for a black wedge pump that I can wear in the winter for work and other stuff. The reason it's hard to find a cute black wedge is because if not done well, they tend to look like a. an orthopedic shoe, b. a grandma shoe, or c. a gothic mess. Last summer/early fall, DSW had the Max Studio Mecca wedge that was PERFECT. It was patent, with an almond toe, nice high wedge that had a faux-wood pattern on the heel, so it was a nice contrast to the shoe itself. They were perfect. I kicked myself all fall for not getting them, but I just hated to spend $70 on a pair of shoes that I didn't "need." So I didn't. And they sold out, everywhere, quickly. I went on a hunt, convinced I would find them somewhere online. But all I found was this. Or this. Basically, nothing that was what I wanted. :( Since I'd become fixated on this shoe in particular, this made me very sad. After searching for months, I'd basically resigned myself to the fact that I wasn't going to find them and I needed to find a substitute.

Fast-forward to Saturday:

I'm on my way home from running errands... I'm about to pass the exit to the mall and something is telling me to go to DSW since I haven't been in forever. Also, I have my giftcard from Christmas that Kerri gave me, so.... I go. The store was truly like a candy store... all of the Spring shoes and sandals are out... so many fun shoes to look at. I was tempted by a few, but ended up talking myself out of them and heading back to the clearance area. I was perusing the 8.5 racks and seeing a few things but nothing amazing.... then, out of the corner of my eye, on one of the lower shelves, I spotted something.... Yellow-ish box, yes, green lining, yes...patent leather... could it be????????????? I tried to nonchalantly pick up the box but I'm pretty sure I looked like a dog going for a piece of meat. Holy crap it was them. I swear I wanted to scream. I was smiling from ear to ear. I'd found them. The one surviving pair (as far as I'm concerned, anyway)! I slid them on and of course, they are perfect. And, half off to boot!!! I tried to contain my excitement, because, I'm sure no one in there would've appreciated it. I kept browsing, just to act like I was having any other normal DSW experience.
I managed to find another pair of black wedges, these being suede, with a fabulous pointy toe. Given my difficulty finding decent wedges, and the fact that these were 70% off, I decided I should definitely get them just on principle alone. I headed off to the register with a spring in my step. No one in there knew that I'd just made the best DSW find ever. Together, my total was about $62.00. With my giftcard, I paid $12.

Best. Trip. Ever.

Max Studio Mecca Wedge Pump ($35)
These are very black in person, the flash made them look grey. They are MKT brand. ($24)

Today I'm wearing some pants that are too big! They didn't use to be!! But, I wanted pants this color to go with the silver accents on my sweater, so these fit the bill. Plus, since they are big, they are super comfy to sit around in! This is the first time I've worn these shoes. They were some little cheapies I found online, but I do so love a metallic. :)

My outfit today:

Pants: Ann Taylor, Outlet, $24
Top: East 5th, JC Penny, Clearance, $9
Sweater: Charlotte Russe, Clearance, $10
Shoes: Ann Marino, via SmartBargains, $20

Ok, so when I looked at the mirror this morning, the pants didn't look quite this big and rumpled... lol
 But they are! Hahah!!!!
Trying to show the detail on my sweater.
 Silver!!!

Not limping!

Well, I'm not limping! I am sore, but not overly sore. My initial thoughts about Physique 57:
Pros:
-It is a good workout in the sense that I was sweating and out of breath without jumping around at all
-I had to stop doing a few exercises b/c I just couldn't do another rep
-My legs were shaking a few times like they used to after doing stadiums
-The time (57 minutes) went by pretty quickly
-I couldn't finish out any move in the abs section, which means I have some work to do there for sure
-My lower back was very "tight/stiff" (hard to describe) after doing the workout but felt fine as the evening went on and feels normal today. This indicates to me that it really called on some ab/lower back muscles that I need to be strengthening, so that's great.
Cons:
-Some of the ab work was hard on my neck, but I think as my abs get stronger, that will lessen
-A few of the moves are strange and you have to constantly check in with your form; it's easy to cheat if your form isn't just right. The moves happen quickly so there isn't a lot of time to adjust and get everything just right before the move is over. You'd almost have to pause the DVD to get everything "right" and then start it again.

All in all, I'm very happy with the first (main) workout. It will fit nicely in my rotation giving me a day off from cardio, but still very much making my muscles do some work! I will try the arms and abs specific video sometime this weekend.

It is GROSS weather here today; cold and rainy. Talk about not wanting to get out of bed/go to work/do anything besides sit on the couch!!

My outfit today:
Jeans: Lauren Conrad, Kohls, $32
T-Shirt: Mossimo for Target, $10
Sweater: St. Johns Bay, Pennys, $16
Flats: Steve Madden; my poor little "go-to" flats.

I was rushing to get pictures done today and therefore half of them were not in the least bit good, so here are a few. You get the idea. :)
