Rain baby, rain!

When it rains it pours and usually that means bad stuff. Maybe in this case I should say when it's sunny, it's really sunny!! Hoping one of the two phone calls I got today end up in a job offer! I wore the right outfit for today... something told me it would be a "sunny" day!!!

Dress: JC Penny, $30
Jacket: Old Navy, $20
Shoes: Stop reading here, DAD! I found these this past weekend on a random trip to Target. They remind me so much of Michael Kors sandals. I love them!!! And at $24.99, resistance was futile!

Nice Thursday

It's nice to have a quiet day after a few hectic ones! And having a half-day Friday tomorrow certainly helps my outlook!

I am going to start my home security system installation today and carry it into the weekend, as it requires some initial tech-supported (computer) set-up and since my laptop at home is useless, I'm going to begin the process on my work computer and continue it into the installation process at the house over the weekend. I am going to track my progress and will do a blog entry on it next week.

Today's outfit is the one I originally intended for yesterday...

This sweater was one of the items I found in March when I stumbled upon a BIG sale at The Limited.  Everything in the store (even previously reduced merchandise) was an additional 40%. I probably hadn't shopped in The Limited for 3 or more years until I hit this sale.

I got several good deals, this sweater being one of them. Its original price was $59.00. It was marked down to $24.99 and then I took an additional 40% off, so I paid about $15 for it. It's an open weave and I love the pink in it. Nice spring sweater.

My outfit:

Pants: Pantology, Marshalls or TJ Maxx (had for quite some time)
Sweater: Limited, $15
Shoes: Kenneth Cole, via the Outlet store, $24

Quiet & Rainy Wednesday

Some day soon, I'm going to have to page back through my blog to refresh my memory on outfits I've worn since August. I'm finding myself having to really think about what I've worn and haven't worn since starting the blog.
I can say, without a doubt I could easily make it to August (and prob much further) still without repeating an outfit, at this point, it's just a matter of remembering all that I've worn!
I had a different outfit planned for today (you'll see it tomorrow) but after walking the dog this morning and feeling the air and looking at the sky, I decided it was going to be a muggy, rainy mess of a day and this outfit was better suited for rain. Well, the shoes are, anyway!!

My outfit today:

Skirt: NY&Co, forever ago old.....
Top: Newport News, $6.99
Shoes: TJ Maxx, my favorite go-to summer wedges. I've worn them so much I had to get the soles re-glued this past winter. I think I paid about $20 for them.

Channeling the beach...

Hoping if I dress "beachy" and comfortable, that the office would be serene. Didn't work, but it was worth a shot and I like being dressed "happy."

My outfit:

Dress: Boutique in S'port (can't remember name) $20
Wrap: Banana, $12
Shoes: Amazon: $10

Monday Blues (and Greens!)

Back to the grind after a nice weekend. Hoping the week is somewhat uneventful, but also hoping for some good news, or even an interview offer from the School of Music position!

My outfit today:

Pants: Old Navy, $9
Sweater: Forever 21, $7
Shoes: Nine West, $50

These are the khaki's I bought after being inspired by another blogger.... they have a pleated front and look very "jodphur-ish" They definitely have to be styled well to look good. Last night, I decided I wanted to wear this sweater once before it got too warm and it is very long, so I decided it would effectively cover the pleats in the pants and voila! an outfit!

Fun Weekend!

Even though I didn't do much this weekend, it was very pleasant. I had to come to campus for a work function Saturday at 11:30, so I ran a few errands Saturday morning (getting my windshield chips fixed, stopping by Walgreens) and then headed to campus. After the event, which, thankfully was held in exactly the time specified, I stopped at Roly Poly for a delicious sandwich and then headed home.
I debated doing Saturday vigil mass, but decided I wanted to get out. I hadn't been to Marshalls in forever, and it was calling my name. I think the upcoming Destin trip had me really wanting to pick up a few vacay items. I found a few very cute items at Marshalls!! (Shocking, I know)

Jackson waiting patiently while I take my clothing pictures.... Happy bud

How can you not love that furry face?

I went home quite satisfied Saturday evening. Thought about venturing out, but then I sat on the couch and it was all she wrote....

Sunday was particularly productive. I got a lot of chores done, cooked, and caught up with an old friend.

After re-hanging the bird feeder for my fatty birds, I took a few pictures of the one lone magnolia flower on the tree. So pretty and such a strong sweet smell!!!

Finally the food!!!

I put about 1/2 cup of chicken broth in the bottom of my slow cooker. Then I cut (very large chunks) carrots and sweet potatoes. I lightly salted and seasoned (all-purpose seasoning) the veggies and put them in the broth at the bottom of the cooker. I generously salted/peppered/seasoned the pork roast and threw in a bay leaf and some parsley. Set the roast on top of the veggies and cooked on high for about an hour and a half an then turned it to low for about 5 and a half hours.
When I returned home from visiting with Kelly, I thanked J for cooking, as the house smelled delicious!!! I went to check the roast and when I pushed it with the fork, it fell apart.... talk about juicy and delicious!!!

Perfect end to a nice Sunday!!
