The Thunder Rolls....

We have had several storms in the last 12 hours. In fact, I fell asleep last night listening to the sound of a gentle rain. Quite nice. Today it's supposed to "rain a lot". That is how the weatherman described it while giving his forecast this morning. I thought that was pretty funny.

I'm playing with a bunch of metallics today.... So many that they all "go" even though they are all different. My shoes are a very Pink-silver metallic, the pink is brought out in the pink stones in my ring; the bracelet has a tan, green and brown stone in it. The brown stone matches my brown watch. The green stone in the bracelet goes with the green trim at the bottom of my shirt and the tan stone matches the tan in my shirt and the tan bead on my earring. It's a hodgepodge that kinda makes sense!

My outfit today:

Top: Nicole Miller, JC Penny, $18
Pants: IN Studio, Dillards, $8
Shoes: Arturo Chiang, Dillards, Prob about $35

Jewelry:

Gold ring with pink-ish stones, Forever 21, $3
Watch: Michael Kors
Bracelet: Banana Republic, $12
Earrings: Can't Remember

This shot is not very flattering, but you get a better sense of the colors...
Head tilt shot for Dad... :)

Hot Pink and Print!

This past weekend involved housework, yard work and baby bird drama, but to my knowledge, all parties survived...at least as of yesterday afternoon.

I have several mosquito bites and a few branch scratches. The baby cardinal that I accidentally knocked out of its nest and managed to get back in using a leaf and a piece of cardboard was doing okay (as far as I could tell) yesterday. I'll have to take a picture of him the next time I think about it.

This is Jackson napping in the sun Saturday. It's the first time I caught him on Roxanne's old bed.

I was feeling as though I might need something bright today and I was pretty much right. I found this linen blazer at Charlotte Russe, for $32. Typically I would not pay that "much" for something there, but I really thought it had potential. I also found the necklace there the same day. Since the two pinks (jacket and stones) were matched just perfect, I couldn't resist. It also helped that the necklace was $5!

My outfit today:

Capri's: Pantology, via TJ Maxx, $16
Shirt: NY & Co, very old
Jacket: Charlotte Russe, $32
Necklace: Charlotte Russe: $5
Shoes: Alfani, via Macys (forever ago) $39

Quick post, half day (YAYAYAYAYA!)

Just a quick post today... I abhor these pictures. They don't do this outfit justice!

My outfit:

Jeans: Banana Republic, $30
Striped Top: New York and Co, many years ago
Jacket: Banana Republic, $20
Shoes: Aldo, $55

Love this little jacket, it's a cotton/linen blend and can be thrown over many things as the weather warms up.

Whew, Wednesday!

Really happy that the week will be on a downhill slope from this point forward! Tomorrow, I'm taking a half-day and I couldn't be happier about that! Friday will be slow, but that's ok.

My outfit today:

There are very very few items I buy that I wear incessantly. I don't like wearing the same piece over and over but I can't help myself with these cropped pants! These are the pants I was given as a gift for Christmas that I picked out prior to that at the Kenneth Cole outlet. I have probably worn them 6 times since I got them. I love them.

I wanted to be chic today, as I needed to look professional for a meeting, but not as though I was going on a job interview, so as to not tip my hat to the hens.

Pants: Kenneth Cole Outlet, $26
Top: East 5th, JC Penny, $18
Shoes: Ann Marino via SmartBargains, $20

As usual, didn't realize this was blurry until it was TOOOOOOOOO late..... :(

Details! This blouse has a very 'Mad Men' feel to it. Tucked into a pencil skirt, I could be an extra on the show!

Tuesday 4/10

Getting through another slow workday today...

I didn't lay out an outfit last night, as I was walking J this morning, that dawned on me and the "What do I want to wear" convo began in my head. I decided that I would wear a skirt and flats of some sort.

This skirt I've had for a little while but not worn. I think when I bought it, it was a tad snug. It still is (thanks to my weekend of indulgence) but, obviously, it does fit. :) I'm thinking, though, that it is time to do a slim-down jump start and really back off the carbs for a little while. This belly bloat has got to go!

Back to the skirt... I got it at Marshalls on clearance. It's Max Studio and the Max Studio tag that was on it indicated an original price of $98. I found it marked down to $10 at Marshalls. It's fully lined. I like it and will like it even more when I don't have a Buddha belly.

Skirt: Max Studio via Marshalls, $10
Top: White/Black (old) $16
Sweater: Papaya, $14
Shoes: Enzo Angiolini, $28

Easter Monday... why are we at work?

At work, not much to report.

Enjoyed the weekend with Mom and Dad, hoping to find "inspiration by the end of the week," as Mom said!

My outfit today:

These are the black pants I went specifically to the Ann Taylor factory store several weeks ago looking for. Only found this one pair on the clearance rank. These pants were made for me! I could throw out all the other pants I own and just get these in every color. Love them.

Pants: Ann Taylor Factory, $20 (Clearance w/ 40% off)
Top: BCBG Max Azria via Marshalls, $24
Shoes: Max Studio Wedges, $35
