Jax and I had to bundle up this morning. It was quite chilly. Luckily there wasn't any wind to speak of but there was definitely frost on the ground when we started our walk! We both had coats on!
I started packing last night for the trip to Atlanta. Packing for a trip like this has to be done in phases because I find it exhausting! I don't like to fly with extra stuff, so I have to make sure what I pack is definitely going to work. Which, for me, means trying everything on in advance to make sure I like the way it looks. Last night I got all of the outfits together. Tonight, I have to pull together accessories and lounge clothes and Wednesday night, I'll gather up makeup/hair stuff and do a last minute check before I put it all in the suitcase! Such a pain! Maybe just maybe I'll be able to get everything in my suitcase and not have to take a carry-on..... wouldn't that be nice....
Today's outfit was thrown together at the last minute. I originally laid out a pair of grey pants last night that really went well with this sweater... pulled them on this morning and they literally fell off. As in, too big to stay on. After I completed my "happy dance," I had to search for different pants. I wanted to stick with grey but the greys that go with this sweater were wrinkled. Arg! So I grabbed these khaki pants, which luckily were ironed, swapped out necklaces and grabbed my comfy suede wedges because they were about the only low-heel shoe I had that would go with my now semi-casual look. And here I am. :) I took a picture of my "outside" look today too because I wanted to show off my $6 Amazon.com Aviators.... They are so flimsy and cheap but for $6 that's what I expected. I just wanted something light and inexpensive to travel with so I wouldn't feel like I was losing a child if I lost them!
This is my chronicle of what I am able to do with just the things I already own. I am attempting to create real world, professional, but fun, outfits using what I already own; basically shopping in my own closet.

Back to the GRIND....
Thanksgiving break over which means two things: 1.) I'm listening to Christmas music (yay!) and 2.) I'm back at work (boo!)
However, on the upside, this week is another 3 day week for me because I was "allowed" [ :( ] to take off Thursday and Friday to go to Atlanta for the SEC game! Yay! So the week will pass by super quickly with everything I need to get done before I leave!
My outfit today:
Pants: Victoria's Secret, not sure what I paid.
Sweater: Dana Buchman, JC Penny Clearance, $10
Shoes: Max Studio
Necklace: World Market, $15
Coat: Charlotte Russe, $20
For some reason, my camera has been taking a lot of blurry pictures lately. Not real happy about that.

Thanksgiving!
I am posting some random pictures from the Thanksgiving weekend... mostly some food pictures from some of the things Mom and I cooked. On Turkey day we had a Prosciutto-wrapped pork loin with pears and sweet potatoes, corn pudding (sooo good), green bean casserole and crescent rolls. We were trying NOT to go overboard. It was all sooo great! We also had 2-ingredient pumpkin muffins as well! Then on Friday, we cooked a turkey breast to add to our leftovers choices! We did the turkey in the slow cooker and it turned out great as well! We didn't do tons this weekend but had a really good time.
Pumpkin Muffins
Pork Loin (wrapped in prosciutto, drizzled with honey)
Corn Pudding final product
Our Thanksgiving meal :)
Shopping on Friday.... we avoided the mall like the plague and only ran into one group of Black-friday t-shirt people.
J says, "Whatcha want?"
Turkey in slowcooker, after I sliced the first piece... forgot a pre-cut picture!
Christmas decorations on mantle! Yay for Santa!
So hard to see details. The camera was not cooperating with the lights on...

Insert Thanksgiving Song here
I wish there were Thanksgiving songs! Friday I'll start listening to Christmas music. Pretty much because it's my favorite. I'm at work today... which is translating into playing with my new iPad (thanks V for giving me your leftovers!) and looking at the Pre-Pre Black Friday email sales. Anyone else worn out with this Black Friday hysteria? It has gotten to the point that I'm really annoyed and want to and probably will boycott it just out of principle.... I pay enough attention to my frequented stores to know that none of the Black Friday sales, with the exception of a cheap sweater here and there are really that great of deals. I'm sure there are a few deals to be had in the electronics world, but frankly, is it worth sleeping outside of a Best Buy for the CHANCE to get one of the 10 special priced items they have? Nah- not for me... I'd pay the extra 50 bucks and waltz in over the weekend once the crowds have died down. But, to each their own!
Today is obviously a VERY S-L-O-W day around the office. Just 2 of us here.... So I dressed as though I am going for a jog, lol....
Pants: Nike, LSU
Top: Mossimo, Target, $7
Shoes: Nike, LSU
Hoodie: SB Active, JC Penny Clearance $6
Last day and then 4 days off!!
The purple's don't match, I know. Just didn't have time to dig for the ones that do!

Tomorrow is the start of Thanksgiving!
Tomorrow is the official start of the Holiday season for me. Mom is coming down, for our somewhat unintentionally fragmented Thanksgiving. And while I do have to work tomorrow, from tomorrow late afternoon on, it's holiday time! Until Friday morning and then it's Christmas time! :) Today's weather isn't tons better than yesterday; high in the 80s and then rain this afternoon. Gross is the only word to describe weather like that at Thanksgiving! Last year, we went to Hot Springs for T-giving and Mom and I were walking Jax in the am's and freezing to death! But, at least it FELT like the holidays! Oh well, maybe the warm weather will make me eat less. :)
Today's Outfit:
Jeans: Seven for All Mankind (Have had for close to 8 years, which is scary bc I still love them!)
Top: Banana Clearance $10
Jacket: Willi Smith, TJ Maxx, $12
Shoes: Moda, via a store in ATL, $40

Monday Monday
So this week is pretty much a waste... we have off Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving, but it's usually dead in the office all week. The students are off at 12:30 on Wednesday but most leave Tues or don't show up at all this week. I'm still stressing; hoping to hear something this week... Everyone keep sending up good thoughts that my career path will get a boost in the right direction and/or that if it doesn't work out that something good is still around the corner!!
I have frizz-poof hair today because the weather is disgusting. Its Thanksgiving week and it's going to be in the low 80s all week. Gross!!! How can I be getting all holiday inspired when I'm sweating while walking J? Stoopid weather :(
My outfit today: (inspired by the gross weather)
Pants: Willi Smith, TJ Maxx, $12
Top: Elle, Kohl's, $18
Bangles: Forever 21, $3
Shoes: Steve Madden, can't remember where I bought them, or what I paid, but I've worn the tar out of them!
